One of the fastest growing, highest volume Harley-Davidson dealership groups is looking for a GM with auto dealership experience in a high volume, 300 + units new and used combined, a month dealership. The ideal candidate is someone who was a General Sales Manager and is now a General Manager. The company uses the automotive processes that most Harley-Davidson Dealers don't. This job is very hands-on and high-performing GMs have partnership opportunities. This is working for a family-owned dealership group with multiple locations in the US. The GM will oversee and manage the operation of the dealership. Responsible for maximizing return on investment, profit and loss, daily operation, planning, development, and implementation of marketing plans for both short-term and long term growth. The dealership in Langhorne, PA is only 15 minutes from Trenton, NJ and 40 minutes from Philadelphia.
Responsibilities:
Provide direction and coordination for all areas of dealership operation.
Establish and communicate operating policies and procedures for dealership.
Balance the demands of employees, suppliers, customers, owners, and community.
Ensure departments maintain budgeted revenue and expense objectives.
Maintain records, controls and requests reports from subordinates to evaluate dealership performance.
Hold department managers accountable for established monthly and annual objectives and financial goals.
Approve all major departmental expenditures.
In collaboration with the Managing Partner(s), make recommendations/changes to the operating plan and related budgets.
Set policies, procedures and processes for dealership.
Coach, counsel and evaluate direct reports.
Manage recruitment, interviewing, hiring and termination of staff.
Conduct performance reviews on a regular basis for direct reports.
Monthly composite review with managers
Set and/or approve compensation plans for dealership employees.
Provide appropriate training for management team to have the skills to do their job. (seminars, sales training, technical training, etc.
Requirements:
7+ years or more of progressive management experience
2+ years of proven experience as a General Manager in a high-volume Automotive, RV, Marine, Powersports dealership.
5+ years in a supervisory position in a high-volume dealership.
Knowledge and experience with Harley-Davidson preferred but not required.
Can effectively manage both people and processes.
Experience with staffing, training, motivating, counseling and monitoring the department managers.
Demonstrated ability to manage all financial and management aspects of a $50+ million-dollar business.
Demonstrated ability to hire, manage, and retain quality employees.
Ability to communicate effectively to resolve problems with other dealership employees, suppliers, Harley-Davidson representative and governmental agencies.
