Description:

Brand strategy and design consultancy with a specialization in product and packaging innovation needs a strong market research professional with a qualitative focus in the consumer package goods industry. This role needs a solid moderator first and CPG industry focus is secondary.

There is a lot of online moderating but the firm has a focus facility on site as well. RIVA or Burke credentials are a plus. The role is currently work from home but will require the person to be able to come to the office at some point. As the Research Division continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for a curious, conscientious and savvy research professional to apply their skills as a Director on our Consumer & Market Research team.
The Consumer Insights Director (based out of Fairfield, CT) will lead the planning, coordination and execution of multiple research projects, managing the day-to-day research-related tasks from planning through report delivery. This role will collaborate with other market researchers (internally and externally), industrial and graphic designers, technology and commercialization teams and have direct contact with research clients throughout a given project. Desire and ability to moderate consumer research (focus groups and IDIs) is necessary for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, manage and facilitate qualitative and quantitative research using the appropriate tools with consideration to the project budget
  • Define appropriate research objectives that are consistent with client/project objectives
  • Plan, manage and moderate qualitative research, including in-person ethnographies and one-on-one interviews, digital ethnographies, online bulletin boards, video diaries, focus groups and ideation sessions
  • Analyze and capture qualitative and quantitative research findings and provide consolidated executive summary of key learnings
  • Ensure design team is fully briefed on consumer learning to inform, focus and confirm design directions
  • Prepare and present quantitative and qualitative research findings to client team via thoughtful, clear and succinct research reports that provide actionable insights
  • Assist the VP Consumer Research in preparation of research capabilities to prospective clients including past case studies
  • Develop and maintain appropriate level client relationships with current and prospective research clients
  • Seek out new and manage existing relationships with relevant research suppliers
  • Assist VP Consumer Research on scouting new and innovative insights solutions, remain on the cutting edge of research tools and trends emerging in the marketplace, including more cost-effective options
  • Support VP Consumer Research by ensuring high-quality and timeliness of work product deliverables, as well as collaborating on all research marketing materials

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in the marketing research field, preferably with experience in CPG
  • A degree in the field of marketing research, marketing or social sciences. MBA a plus.
  • Experience in executing qualitative research; some experience in quantitative preferred
  • Experience moderating consumer sessions with a RIVA or equivalent moderator training
  • Fluency in MS Office (Outlook, MS Word, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to present work in a articulate, enthusiastic and professional manner
  • Naturally inquisitive in nature, with a knack for uncovering insights and patterns

Consumer Product Firm is looking for a Senior Insights Market Research professional to join the team.The role will work closely with the Head of Marketing. Important things: Understanding of Digital Research, segmentation, Digital Ad measurement, Brand Tracking, and Neuroscience. The role will work with suppliers to manage the research but must be able to create their own survey’s on demand if needed. The Senior Insights Manager drives consumer insights and works seamlessly with cross functional partners to further grow the brand insight initiatives and support the brand team for key projects.This position can be remote until Covid19 ends.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Execute Insight Learning Agenda for categories to drive brand share and category growth.
  • Leads assigned Brand projects with assertiveness and leadership with best in class insight techniques to address business questions.
  • Spearheads the Demand Space learning within the Brand and Sales teams to drive brand and category growth on a continuous basis.
  • Gives voice to the consumer learning and partner, collaborate closely with Marketing base business and Innovation team, Sales, and R&D partners for North America.
  • Partners with analytics and Business Insights manager to support holistic overviews and reveal insights that drive base business initiatives.
  • Partners with category management to propose and support shopper strategies for specific brands.

Requirements:
  • 6 years of consumer insights, development and commercialization insight experience for a CPG organization key, and innovation experience is a plus.
  • Skilled in the ability to synthesize and translated a cohesive picture from a wide variety of information types and sources.
  • Ability to effectively communicate insight findings in writing and orally to marketing and key stakeholder audiences.
  • Proficiency in or strong aptitude for working with data and guiding research agencies in analyses and reporting.
  • Solid presentation skills and translating insights into actions that address business questions for impact.
  • Seasoned experience with survey research methods and tools, for both Qualitative and Quantitative techniques.
  • Solid working experience of Consumer Segmentation studies, Demand Space/5 Ws frameworks and how to leverage for brand growth.
  • Solid working experience of Advertising testing tools such as Neuroscience and best in class in market pre-advertising testing techniques (IPSOS Connect/ASI, Millward Brown Link).
  • Solid working experience of Digital Advertising tools in pre-testing creative online and post measurement of creative via Facebook, YouTube (videos, banners).
  • The ability to critic pre-Ad testing (TV and Digital) approaches and leverage different copy testing methodologies to improve and qualify creative.
  • Experienced in Concept writing and validation tools through leading edge techniques.
  • Experienced with different qualitative approaches, as well as advertising testing, packaging evaluation.
  • Experienced in presenting insight findings in-person to managerial or executive level audiences and translating findings in a palatable way both written and orally.
  • Demonstrative experience of managing research partners to obtain the best value of work and deliverables.
  • Good understanding of syndicated data and it’s uses, such as IRI data, household panel data.
  • Displays leadership in assisting and guiding Marketing to embed the Consumer in all work and maintain the Consumer at the forefront.
